Trainings to get every student talking
Our participant-centered trainings are built around simple, high-yield strategies that can be implemented immediately and work across content areas and grade levels.
Getting All Students Talking and Thinking
Imagine a lesson driven by students’ voices, all using academic language in context. In this training, we model simple, structured routines that engage all students in academic conversations, every day. Participants will practice these routines as teachers and as students and will walk away with a planned lesson and a new toolbox of simple, high-yield strategies.

The Simplest Lesson Plan for Literacy and Oracy
What are the most essential parts of a lesson plan to ensure students develop literacy and oracy every day? In this training, we show a simple framework that aligns content to language and makes lesson planning easy and effective. Participants will walk away having written lesson plans (of course!) and practiced engaging, easy-to-implement strategies.

Getting Students Asking Questions and Writing Arguments
How do we develop students’ curiosity, and how do we transform that curiosity into critically thinking question asking? This training shows teachers how to create a culture where questions come naturally, and explains the Question-Evidence-Claim-Reasoning approach to take students from question-posing to predicting, evaluating, and justifying.

Integrating the ELPS into Content-Area Instruction
The new ELPS are here! Are your teachers ready? We take a practical, simple approach to helping all teachers teach the ELPS in partnership with the TEKS so that it feels like not “one more thing” but instead the simple way to teach, every day. This training walks teachers through creating language objectives aligned with the ELPS, differentiating and accommodating instruction for EBs at various proficiency levels, and implementing easy, highly engaging strategies that get all students reading, writing, speaking, and thinking academically.

Trainings with The Visual Non-Glossary
We apply our same participant-centered, language-focused approach to trainings using The Visual Non-Glossary.

Every training is available as a PLC mini-session
We can deliver any of the trainings below in a condensed 45- to 90-minute format during teachers' shared planning time. We model one high-yield strategy, help teachers plan it into an upcoming lesson, and leave time to reflect, without affecting instructional time. PLC mini-sessions are most impactful as a series throughout the school year.
