Stephen is an expert in making teaching practical, simple, and focused on getting students engaged and talking. As Chief Executive Officer, Stephen helps our team drive towards its mission of helping educators create classrooms where all students feel seen, heard, and excited to come to school.

Prior to co-founding Constructed Learning, Stephen served at Seidlitz Education in various roles: most recently as Chief Digital Officer overseeing development of The Visual Non-Glossary, and earlier as an educational consultant, where he professionally developed teachers and leaders across Texas and beyond in training and coaching.

Before joining Seidlitz Education, Stephen was an instructional coach and high-school Science teacher at a Title I school in San Antonio, TX, where he was awarded District Teacher of the Year and the KENS5 ExCEL Award.

Stephen is the author of Teaching Science to English Learners with Tina Beene. He holds a PhD in Developmental Biology from the University of Oxford and a Master’s of School Leadership from the University of the Incarnate Word.
